day 18/365
I had the great honor of interviewing Mamiya Kiyoko, a top craftsman of Ainu embroidery. She uses a difficult"Etaruka" technique to create the delicate spider-web-like patterns in many of her designs.

Sapporo is my town! Today I spent a couple of hours editing both my Japanese and English newsletters while sitting indoors at a ski resort.
I think I may have broken my little toe which is why I didn't try to ski. At least it's been badly bruised...

Day 10- sleepy
My 25 minutes of music related work today included uploading my January video newsletters to YouTube, both Japanese and English versions. And taking two phone calls about different video projects and work that will take me out of town in the next two months.
Day 9/365
Today I spent over 3 hours recording an audition for a narration job. The majority of the audition was in Japanese so that took me a while to work out the intonation, etc. 2025 is all about stretching myself and following through with my commitments.

Day 8/365 -I decided to go live on tiktok and performed one of my newer songs, "The Snow's Not Melting"
Over 50 people came by during the live broadcast and someone gave me two hearts which I'm grateful for. but it's probably going to be a while before the algorithm gives.
Day 7
Enjoyed the first saxophone & English exchange lesson of the year. I'm making great progress thanks to the skilled coaching of Kengo ONO !
Slowly but surely unlocking another childhood dream!
