Israel exhumed around 700 bodies from a cemetery, then abandoned the site and withdrew.

After the army pulled out and recovered the final Israeli captive, families returned to find no visible cemetery.

Bodies were dumped in blue bags, some buried to hide the crime, others left exposed. Bones and corpses are piled together, making identification nearly impossible, including remains decades old.

Today, Israeli shelling later struck civilians at the cemetery, killing 4 and injuring 3 Palestinians searching for their lost dead.
