@idontknowalt2 to each their own, for sure, but I don’t know if I could ever play it like this with the image constantly shifting(?) it looks super awkward.
@ellymanster I think that’s where the focus really needs to be. There are so many games out there that look fantastic, yet lack engaging gameplay. It’s why I’ve gone down the indie publisher rabbit hole these last few years.
@DravicIsHere Okay, so this technology shreds your FPS and sacrifices art direction to make characters look significantly worse, no matter how limited the use of it is. That is the biggest takeaway of all of this. No matter how you spin it, this technology is terrible and will never be good.
@BeerfoxTheWise you dumb fuck, if the product even has the ABILITY to look awful when it’s simple design idea is to make everything “look better” then it is a terrible product. Further, this shit shreds your FPS. There is no other graphical setting that intentionally does that while looking shit
@MefreeNTR2098 This exact technology is why i can’t upgrade my pc specs at a reasonable price. So yeah, I hate this shit. Especially when it doesn’t look good.
@ThePufferSquid The environments look good, but the character models just look… astonishing. Even then, the environments have a weird glossy look to them when they shouldn’t.
@ellymanster I think the gap between HL2 to whatever is going on here highlights why it might look so good in your eyes. If you’ve got the time, have a sus of some other modern games without DLSS thrown on, like TLOU2, AC Black Flag Resynced, Horizon Forbidden West.
Purposeful art clears.
@Shxck3r i saw an instance of DLSS 5 changing an entire car model, so I’m curious to see how driving would look since it’s just a constantly changing filter over the game.
@Rico1241 Look, generative AI CAN look good. It’s still wrong in my eyes, thus I’ll never support it.
This, however, looks so fuckin’ bad. Everybody looks much older than they are and weirdly oily. I’m not here to regurgitate the general opinion lmao. I call it as I see it.
@DravicIsHere if using the technology to “purposely make it look bad” is any indication of something, perhaps it’s that it’s not a very good use of tech in the first place.
