My book Jugaad Yatra - The Indian Art of Problem Solving is published this week. It explores a uniquely Indian way of thinking and how it finds brilliant new solutions but also exacerbates some of India’s worst problems: https://t.co/pOK3pYT58y

I've seen and reported many child sex abuse scandals, but I don't remember the far-right ever caring about them. The perps - cops, care home heads, social workers, private school masters - were too white. Abuse isn't about race, it's mainly about men. #PakistaniGroomingGangs
@ewangibbs We were 'slum-cleared' from a house with no indoor toilet or hot water, in London's East End to a new council house in Essex with central heating, bathroom, modern kitchen, and neighbours from the same background who were given real hope of better lives. It transformed ours.
John Prescott was one of the great figures of our political era—passionate, loyal, and full of life. I will never forget our many lively exchanges across the despatch box. John was a formidable debater, unflinching in his commitment to his values, and he had a unique ability to speak directly to the concerns of the people he represented.
It was a point of pride for both of us that we hailed from Rotherham; although it shaped us in different ways, we shared a certain bluntness in our exchanges—though in true Yorkshire fashion, John usually got straight to the point faster than I did!
John’s legacy as a voice for working people and a relentless advocate for Labour will endure. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this very sad time.
Don’t forget what they have done. Partygate, the Covid contracts, the lies, the kickbacks.
The cronyism, the failure to invest, the division and scapegoating, the trips to the bookies, the Liz Truss mini-budget, the decimation of your public services.
Don’t forget any of it. 🧾
Purely as a piece of communication, this picture of Keir and Victoria Starmer at Taylor Swift speaks a million words. His rivals look angry, old, unhealthy, flabby, tired…. Success is about the soul and people respond to soul….. you can see it in this photo….
@mazdaki@praveenswami True. Shameful and deluded - a reminder that there is no appeasing war criminals like Hitler or Putin and no annexation we can dismiss as a "quarrel in a far away country, between people of whom we know nothing". We all tolerate Putin at our peril.
Some big truth bombs here from @praveenswami but for British soldiers/people it was a fight for survival and for our way of life - our options were fight or live under Nazi rule. My Dad was born into it and the memory of the Blitz never left him. https://t.co/MdcsONfmJw
@praveenswami For Britain it was a war of reinvention: it transformed us from an imperial power at the start to a secondary one at the end. It's the only war I like to think I like to think I would have fought in.
