I’m building something I’ve wanted to see for a long time…
African stories told through AI. 🎬🌍
Drama.
Mystery.
Folklore.
Unexpected plot twists.
Not just AI images.
I want to create stories that make you stop scrolling and say:
“WAIT… WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?” 👀
Welcome to Tales by Olive.
Follow if you want to watch this journey unfold. 🧵
Stop telling ChatGPT:
“Write a caption for me.”
Try this instead:
“Act as a social media strategist. I sell [PRODUCT]. My target audience is [AUDIENCE]. Write 5 short captions that sound natural, create curiosity and encourage people to buy.”
The more context you give AI, the better the result.
I’m sorry to break this to you, but if you’re into storytelling niches, you need to understand that, at this point, it is basically a cash cow. Get your money and move into higher-end niches.
Most of the tactics you use to pull off storytelling can also be applied to other niches, sometimes with just 50% of the production stress.
Other niches are not as complicated as you think. Everyone on X talks about how difficult their editing is, but when you eventually come across their channels, you realise it’s not actually that hard.
I think the hardest part of some niches, like true crime, is the ideation and scripting, not the editing. How do you write a script that keeps an intelligent audience glued to the end?
Storytelling is fiction. You can keep people watching simply because they want to know how the storyline ends.
But both dialogue and narrative storytelling seem to be facing a crackdown right now. It’s either you get hit for generic or repetitive content, or your content is seen as unsatisfying or off-putting.
You might be fortunate enough to get paid two or three times. Let that money serve as capital for you to experiment with higher-end channels.
Think of niches like:
“10 Jamaican Cities That Have Been in Existence for Over 150 Years.”
For tools, don’t overcomplicate things. ChatGPT Plus is enough for research, ideation, and scripting. Storyblocks can handle stock footage, while YouTube can help you find real-life footage of the places you’re covering.
Install Nexlev and properly warm up your channel so your homepage starts recommending new channels within your niche.
On my travel channel, I’ve gotten tons of inspiration directly from my homepage.
Research is extremely important. If you don’t research properly, there are a lot of hidden gems and opportunities you may not discover early enough.
Get ready for Q4.
Your life can literally go from 0 to 100.
The question is, how badly do you really want it?
Seedance 2.5
Prompt:
A young woman wearing brown leather boots, glasses, a tan trench coat, and a thick red scarf walks through a cold, rainy Japanese-style alley at night, her breath visible in the air. She sees an elderly man struggling to push a wooden oden cart with a glowing red lantern, so she drops her leather duffel bag and rushes to help. They push the cart together through the wet alley, then share a warm smile. The elderly man gives her a newspaper-wrapped roasted sweet potato. When she opens it, the steaming potato glows with warm golden magical light and tiny sparkling embers. She takes a bite with her eyes closed, smiling peacefully as sparkles drift around her, while the elderly man pushes his glowing cart into the distance. Cozy, emotional, cinematic, photorealistic, atmospheric night lighting, shallow depth of field, warm magical glow, 4K.
You don't need a perfect plan.
You need a starting point.
Start with what you have. Learn what you don't know. Improve as you go.
That's how most things are built.
Sometimes the biggest difference between you and the person you admire online is simply that they kept going.
Don't quit during the quiet season.
Your consistency is building something you cannot see yet.
The internet has changed the meaning of opportunity.
You can learn a skill from your bedroom.
Build an audience from your phone.
Create digital products without owning a physical store.
Don't underestimate what you have access to.
I'm learning that starting small isn't the same as thinking small.
You can start with a phone.
You can start with free tools.
You can start with 30 minutes a day.
The important thing is to START.
Your first 10 posts might get almost no attention.
Post 11 might surprise you.
That's why consistency matters.
You never know which post will introduce people to your work.
Nobody talks enough about how scary it is to start over.
You can have the talent.
You can have the vision.
You can have the plan.
And still be afraid.
Start anyway.
AI is not the opportunity.
Knowing how to USE AI to solve real problems is the opportunity.
Learn the tools.
Learn how to create.
Learn how to communicate.
Learn how to sell.
That combination can take you far. To
I used to think I needed everything figured out before I started.
Now I understand that sometimes clarity comes AFTER you start.
Start messy.
Learn as you go.
Improve along the way.
Start anyway.
