Thank you, thank you. The responsibility of this positions is taken seriously. It is critical that the right decisions are made that suit the needs of this island. Guernsey must adapt as the livelihoods of many are at stake and the future of Guernsey with it.
I am truly grateful for the support of my family and the trust and support of so many islanders. I have received a warm welcome going door to door and campaigning throughout the island. I will continue to address and challenge government proposals that affect the island community
https://t.co/rTGevDVqJ7 We need to diversify. Sustainable local renewable energy is the way forward. Regenerate, employment opportunities, even export.
The age related tax allowance of £950 for those over 65 was withdrawn implemented by Gavin St Pier, as Head of Treasury and his team in P and R.
THIS AMENDMENT was an attempt by Deputy De Lisle and Paint to retain the age -related tax allowance at £950 for pensioners. Defeated.
Employment and Social Security Committee state the level of protection of the home is no longer justifiable when going into care. This is after giving assurances in 2003 when implementing the insurance scheme and hiking charges that this would not be done.
Revive and thrive. Is this what working together brings. MRI scanner in the middle of parking lot in front of PEH. Porta cabin for changing room and then stroll half naked to container holding the scanner. No cover, no privacy. Surely we deserve better HSC?
@HeidiSoulsby Its not about KPI - that's great for financial institutions this is about living breathing people who are in pain and unable to get X rays or appointments.
@HeidiSoulsby Or being told if you want surgery quick pay up £15,000 and the waiting will shrink, and for those on insurance its four months and all others have to resort to 18 to 24 months waiting in pain. These are comments from the public. Are you telling me this is part of your KPI.
@HeidiSoulsby Or while a young first mother is told by her nurses that her midwife is busy having lunch and will not come down to help in her final hours of giving birth and she has to be helped by her husband clinging to the walls to the delivery room.
For the sake of clarity these are the options being considered under Pause and Review, the introduction of two 11 to18 colleges: three 11 to18 colleges; two 11 to16 colleges and one 11 to18 college and three 11 to 16 colleges/ a separate sixth form college, on a different site.
@DeputyMaryLowe @Buses_gg So if Mrs Lepage gets on the bus on 2 November for her Doctors appointment she will be told to pay up or no bus trip. What a disgrace? Another attack on pensioners. And I suppose if this card is lost than another £2.50 will be have to be forked out. Who's idea is this one?
If this has been working since 2001 why do pensioners now have to pay to get on the bus to then go to the bus concession and pay an additional £2.50 and bring a photo for a bus pass for free travel. P and R and or Environment and Infrastructure have some explaining to do.
Going forward the State coffers are not going to be the same. Where is the funding going to come from? Business in all its forms has suffered. Third sector 'should not be judged by pre-Covid standards' https://t.co/QNvNvPR91i via @BBCNews
@gavinstpier@HeidiSoulsby @GsyPartnership The last two terms have progressively strangled our economy even before Corvid. Its easy to borrow with huge appended costs and spend taxpayers money. Its more difficult to spend wisely with restraint.
