@carmarie1979 @khathir_ @FilmUpdates Yeah it’s kind of a “too prim and proper to be true” vibe to her character at the start, and it’s very deliberate :)

If you do give it another chance, consider listening to a podcast episode about it after on the “You Are Good” podcast, they talk about the “feelings” side of it.

@FilmUpdates I agree with #1 but having Charlize Theron in the list for Fury Road and not for Monster - one of the top 5 Best Actress winning performances of all time - is abject failure. And missing Amy Adams for Arrival is also absurd.

@josemorgado The saddest detail for me was that he didn’t get any ranking points from his strong Wimbledon showing and was stranded at 101 in the rankings. So he should have been a top 100 player but the rankings will forever show that his high was 101.

@mrbrianrowe Should have been in supporting, and as a result the whole thing feels weird and incorrect. She’s among my favourites but this was a dumb situation. All her other nominations are excellent, plus her TV work is phenomenal (Fosse/Verdon, Dying For Sex)

@mrbrianrowe Hard to go past Director or Screenplay… fundamentally misguided choices made for the film to be the way it is.

Also not the worst one but the most annoying to me is Saldaña because she somehow swept the season by default when there were better options. It’s just irritating.

@OscarRunnerUp Superb. She carries the film and creates a believable character in an absurd story, so somehow we are always rooting for her. She took a big swing with the sheer commitment she brought to the project, and it paid off.
