That was a whirlwind finale, and I'm not sure I liked it as much as the buildup, but "Get Out" was an incredible film overall. A lot of food for thought. #kuagf

As clever of a reveal as the photos are, it begs the question - why would she have kept them in the first place? Literally the only purpose they could serve is as incriminating evidence. #kaugf

A nice reversal of the classic horror "let's go inside," here. It won't work, obviously, but it's nice to see an acknowledgement of the insanity early. #kuagf

The cinematography of the hypnosis scene is gorgeous, and so simply done at the same time. I'm really impressed. #kuagf

Really interesting how we only see the greetings and interactions from afar at first, so that it's impossible to see individual reactions. #kuagf

Great, now Chris is gonna remember the incredible and violent super agent he used to be. #kuagf

Ill-fitting music is probably one of my favorite film gags. It's a perfect way to establish a humorous tone that isn't over-the-top. #kuagf

[David Eltz @deltz025]

It starts off immediately by making a surprisingly gorgeous use of the "sidewalk at night" trope, AND the phone call trope. #kuagf

Alright, let's check out what a friend once described as "The black Body Snatchers." Time for Jordan Peele's "Get Out."

All considered, that felt short. As if there were parts that belonged in it, but were cut for some reason or another. #KUAGF

This film is shockingly quiet. It adds considerably to the suspense of Lugosi's vampire. #KUAGF

[David Eltz @deltz025]

Like Dracula, Ms. Weston treats a bat outside her window with the same casual nature as we might a robin flying past. #KUAGF

[David Eltz @deltz025]

Interesting how Dracula normalizes his abode and the howling of wolves (or "children of the night"). Kind of how horror defamiliarizes us to the world. #KUAGF

[David Eltz @deltz025]

The cuts, on the other hand, seem to either skip too much time, or slow it down. A lot of them make the film feel choppy so far. #KUAGF

[David Eltz @deltz025]

Although a bit longer than today, the shots in Dracula appear almost modern, making effective use of long shots and medium close-ups so far. #KUAGF

[David Eltz @deltz025]

The film makes great use of miniatures for the explosion. So much more satisfying than CG. #kuagf

If Caity grows up to be an assassin and establishes an affinity for potted plants, Luc Besson's gonna sue. #kuagf

[David Eltz @deltz025]

So, does she just violently crash and fling herself from every car she drives, or are those just the movie's bookends? #kuagf

[David Eltz @deltz025]

I love how 90s movies gave every digital device a stylish user interface. Even bombs. #kuagf

[David Eltz @deltz025]

I'm not sure how to take the political side of this... It's offputting how relevant it is for a movie made half a decade before 9/11. #kuagf
