A random guy that I didn’t know, stood in front of me trying to protect me. He kept saying stay low. He stood up from where he was for me to stay. A STRANGER.

He was shot right in my face. His blood splashed all over me, all I could see was his intestines on the floor.
It could have been me. He stood there and was shot instead.

That pain, anger and trauma was what carried a lot of us into the fight to speak up for others, for a better Nigeria. We channeled our anger into the 2023 elections, ensuring to use our voices for the candidate we believe could have given us that Nigeria of our dream.
Sometimes I truly wish things happened differently.

Because for this sacrifice, pain and memory, nobody should be throwing everything in the wind.
If this is how everyone truly is, then I’m sorry, because nobody deserved that sacrifice.
