Consoles used to be cheap, that was their appeal. Bad but static hardware that could be optimized for.
Anytime a console gets a price hike, like the Nintendo Switch 2, it makes it less of a bargain due to closing the price gap with a PC.
Consoles don't have their place anymore.
Valve pushing for price parity on Steam and other stores is not anti-trust but it should be no more than +42.86% more expensive on Steam to account for the 30% cut
Example: $70 game on Ubisoft connect would be $100 on Steam at most
Rainbow Six Siege was $15 vs $40, +266.67%
Open-source > proprietary, not only when it comes to Blender vs Maya. Also, don't buy any type of licenses from non-official resellers, if something is weirdly cheap there's a catch.
Autodesk’s fine has bankrupted our small studio.
A few months ago, we made a serious mistake - we bought a Maya license from a fraudulent third-party seller. Autodesk hit us with a massive fine, far larger than the original error. Even after we explained our situation as a two-person indie team, they still enforced it in full.
This has been incredibly tough and made us question everything. But after 7 years of hard work, we’re not ready to give up!
To keep our studio going and fund the next game, we’re running our biggest discount ever: 87% off Wigmund.
If you’ve wishlisted us, enjoyed our unique mouse-as-sword combat, or want to support a passionate two-person indie team, your help right now would mean the world to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

There are 2 more steps to take in order to clean up a company:
1. HR was the amplifier, effectively transforming small issues into bigger ones that did not exist in that form
2. Next step is to get rid of wannabe-HR employees
3. Lastly, get rid of anyone bringing problems
Don't bother re-installing Diablo 4 if you don't buy the expansion, 1/3 basic talent passives in the new season 13 are locked behind the xpac purchase and half the season quests to the new zone

The Cube saved no shit, awful trailer stitched together with no real meaning, ADHD pacing, misuse of core concept, soulless game, I want to un-watch this

It seems this is a standalone orchestral work written for concert hall with a full album release planned for June 2026.

It should never have been accepted in the first place. It's a broad mechanic that has been used many times before, not a Pokémon original mechanic.
Nintendo is desperate to get anything to fight Palworld, going into the patent troll territory.
The US Patent Office has revoked Nintendo's 2025 patent on summoning characters to battle on the player's behalf, either automatically or manually.
This is the same patent cited in Nintendo's legal action against Palworld.
Nintendo has two months to appeal the decision.
Does not automatically end the Palworld lawsuit, but weakens Nintendo's position on this mechanic.
Have been pug'ing some hc raids in World of Warcraft and I see patterns of Gen Z people being crippled, underperforming and not reacting to anything.
Also saw that companies are firing 60% of them within months.
I'm not surprised, their brains are cooked.
The Haranir zone in World of Warcraft Midnight has a very distinct music ambience also found in older games with a cursed forest thematic
They used a female only choral, singing short oo and aa, and added a lot of reverb to get the mystic feel
Reminded me of Tomba 2 immediately
I did finish the Windrose demo with these +500% settings. The game is a mix of Ark, Atlas, Sea of Thieves, with a block, perfect block and stance break system.
The QoL is quite good already, building mode shows you a direction box, there's a 1-click deposit and storage per zone.

@Jaiydanimate A very small team was on it probably, before shifting everyone from Starfield to it. Todd said it's still going to take a while, so there's a high chance full prod didn't start before the end of 2024 (after the Starfield DLC) and 2028-2029 will be the release year.
The Elder Scrolls VI live interview today revealed the "Creation Engine 3" built upon the previous engine versions.
For reference: Starfield was build on 2, Skyrim on 1.

In a blind test, audiophiles couldn't tell the difference between audio signals sent through copper wire, a banana, or wet mud — 'The mud should sound perfectly awful, but it doesn't,' notes the experiment creator https://t.co/KdAlZ9tK4d
