This entire situation encapsulates what it’s felt like to be an artist for the past year. We keep screaming “No” and demanding them to stop stealing from us and they just. keep. doing. it. Meanwhile they gaslight us in a myriad of ways and take away our autonomy as creators.

Artists are TIRED.

Day jobs eat up energy. There's always a wrestling match between insufficient time and a lack of motivation. When you do have time, you're exhausted from thinking about how you should be drawing instead of scrolling.

But why a third-party "vendor" and not one of the thousands (probably more) of creators making work in your community?

Creators who are posting real, human-made art whose finished product doesn't need to be tested multiple times through a "popular AI scanning tool".

@sylessae If they use art, they should use art made with that tool they are selling, why even buy it from a stock or w/e. If not, why even bother? That should be the first point.

The greatest tragedy of AI is that we lost the ability to just enjoy art the moment we lay eyes on it. For a brief half a second we have to double check, look for signs before we can really enjoy something and that used to be so free for us. We’ve lost that free spark of joy.
