Did EA acquire Rockstar?
Because GTA VI is locking 5 whole shops behind the $100 Ultimate Edition.
On top of the other bonuses, these 5 spots are literally "only open for business" if you pay up:
- Stock 305 Clothing Store
- Sara's Unisex Hair Salon
- Rideout Customs Mod Shop
- One Eyed Willie's Mod Shop
- Electric Fang Tattoo Shop
Paying for cosmetics is standard, but locking physical, interactive locations in the open world behind a paywall? That breaks the vibe.
You will inevitably drive past doors that are only "closed" because you didn't swipe your credit card, and realize the "open" world isn't fully open to you.
Is this the new normal for AAA gaming now?
GTA 6 IS A PREDATORY TROJAN HORSE.
That "bonus" GTA+ trial isn't a bonus at all. Redeem it, and you're automatically enrolled in recurring billing unless you cancel. The freebie is just bait. #gta6
> Buy GTA VI regular edition
> Drive up to a new car shop you found
> Doors are locked?
> Cutscene starts playing
> Strauss Zelnick walks up to your car
> "Sorry kid, you're too broke for this place, find something else to do"
Remember when Game-Key Cards were “the death of physical media”? Now people are ready to pay $80 for GTA VI, $100 for the Ultimate Edition, and accept a box with nothing but a download code.
Funny how outrage disappears when it’s Rockstar.
Consistency matters.
