@texanconstitut1@Seanponty@HiddenHistoryYT June- August is harsh winter in SA, so they couldn’t build up for months. They sailed immediately in April and landed in May for that reason. Armour on Falkland Islands terrain, really?! And Afghanistan and Iran didn’t go too well for the US against smaller opponents…
@hannanator2@JonathanPieNews Well it’d certainly tick the box of showing understanding and empathy to members of minority communities. As Henry’s dad said “the contrast (in how the two were treated) is unbearable”.
@hannanator2@JonathanPieNews I think as it’s not their own friends / family / colleagues they’re being harsh on (but rather a stranger, like Henry) they’re at times happy to over compensate to demonstrate they’re meeting the Police Race Action Plan and other guidelines, to both protect and progress career.
@hannanator2@JonathanPieNews Nowak’s a slight guy, on the floor, already contained by family, 4 PCs also now on scene… hard to see how he presents as a threat. Digwa also not handcuffed when transported to station. Digwa also allowed into Police canteen to pick his own food when under arrest for murder!
@hannanator2@JonathanPieNews Why forcibly handcuff an injured man on the ground and arrest for assault. But not handcuff a fit and standing man when arresting him for murder?
@RunchieC@joerichlaw@jeangenie22@Telegraph The inquest doesn’t resume until sept 2027! I don’t understand why they haven’t been investigated by the police and charged with Perverting the course of justice; Obstructing a police officer; Accessory to murder; etc.
@DonnaDlm71 Agreed. I would however like the next 20 mins of bodycam footage to be released so we can see 1. how much effort they actually made to save Henry and how bothered they were, 2. The moment they apologetically arrest Digwa and decide not to handcuff him and why.
@JuliaHB1@arusbridger The strange thing is he gets minimum 22 years, whilst Henry’s killer only got 21 years despite aggravating circumstances (filming him, taunting him, not calling ambulance, not telling police of wounds, making false racial accusations). Hmmm
@Christophe74732@ImtiazMadmood@Nalanthian Yes, the officer who arrested Henry and the one who arrested Digwa are extremely unlikely to be the same person. Intriguing why fit, healthy, larger, standing Digwa was not handcuffed for arrest for murder with a knife. No fight or flight risk, i guess 🙄
@Christophe74732@ImtiazMadmood@Nalanthian Well let’s see what the IOPC rules. Will also be interesting to see the conclusion they reach on the officer who chose NOT to handcuff Digwa when arresting him for murder, he wasn’t even handcuffed whilst being transported to the police station.
@Christophe74732@ImtiazMadmood@Nalanthian I don’t mean police were told he’s got a spinal injury, I mean they can deduce from what they’re told 2. He’s had a fall from height, and 3. He can’t sit up and support himself. A trained first aider knows that suggests spinal injury may be present.
@Christophe74732@ImtiazMadmood@Nalanthian He wasn’t underneath a car! I’m literally watching it now. His father had him propped up by wall then dropped him when pc came. He’s a small guy, already contained by family, injured, on ground, and now 4 police also there! Zero risk of going anywhere.
@Christophe74732@ImtiazMadmood@Nalanthian So even if policeman didn’t believe stabbing, given what he had been told by 4 people and how Henry presented, rather than dragging and cuffing, he should have checked for injuries, if following guidelines.
@Nathan8hpp@LBC@timleunig True - needs to be balance against using it all - but if you reach retirement (ie lose main income) and you still rent your home, that’s a huge chunk of your now reduced income gone each month. Whereas retiring mortgage free, owning your own home is much better financially.
