I was talking to one of my kids recently about Corrie Ten Boom. The conversation turned to her sister Betsy. She hid the Jews and loved them, protecting their lives with her life. And she also loved the Nazis as humans. She prayed for all of them, and looked for every opportunity to show them Jesus, and remind them of their own humanity.
Some say it's not practical to love that radically. She utterly rejected hating her enemies, even as they killed her. But my goodness, I want to be like Betsy. I want to hold that kind of love. She's the definition of winning, when another kingdom is your reality.
“We need Greenland for national security”
“We need Greenland for natural resources”
“Greenland is in our backyard”
“The people of Greenland aren’t governed well”
Now replace “Greenland” with “Crimea” and you have Kremlin talking points about Ukraine.
This is a problem.
A Christianity that believes it needs a president, legislation and a government to ensure its survival is a Christianity that is centered on the worship of its own power rather than faithfully relying on the power of God.
God is just its mascot for its political ideology
This Bondi performance is designed to send an authoritarian message of total scorn for democracy: Congress as a place where the opposition can grill government officials is an outdated and offensive notion. Doesn't happen in Russia or China, why should they have to tolerate it anymore?
