Welfare Reforms.

Before and after our announcement today the media have been in full time fake news mode. please note we are not scrapping PIP, this is just another media scare stunt.

Here are a few questions and answers so please share.

How will this impact pensioners?

It will have no impact on British pensioners, including
those claiming PIP.

Foreign citizens who have accumulated enough NI years will remain
eligible for the State Pension, but not Pension Credit.

How will this impact British citizens currently claiming disability benefits?

Working-age claimants with mental-health or trivial conditions will be reassessed over
three years.

Those with severe conditions will retain their existing awards.

Those without severe conditions will lose unconditional cash, but their verifiable additional
costs will be covered by Disability Support Accounts.

Other working-age claimants will be reassessed only after three years, by which time, a
reassessment would likely have been due in any case.

Existing claimants of child DLA will retain their existing awards.

Pensioners claiming Attendance Allowance will not be impacted, nor will those
claiming PIP over the State Pension Age.

How will this impact mixed-nationality households?

Households with one British adult and
one foreign adult will retain access to benefits under the British adult. The British adult will be
treated as a single adult.

However, the foreign adult’s income or assets will count against the
means test.

How will this impact veterans?

The Armed Forces Compensation Scheme, War Pension, and
Armed Forces Independence Payment which cover service-related disabilities are not affected
by our changes to disability benefits. For those who do not receive AFCS/WP funding and
instead receive standard civilian benefits, they will be reassessed under the normal civilian
process.

We have costed all enhanced daily living claimants as retaining their benefits, except
for those in treatment-responsive conditions, but 60% with such a condition will retain their
full benefit.
