Priority #1 this year is to learn how to hold my big winners longer.
Priority #2 is to have majority of investments in big/liquid high quality stocks.
Priority #3 Learn and create list of offensive sell rules.
Priority #4 Be more patient and wait for the right set ups.
Back from a week long trip to the Canadian Rockies. This is the view from Whistling Pass in Banff National Park. Haiduk Lake can also be seen. The market was not kind to me during the trip but you gotta live life.
A few charts standing out.
$MEDP earnings gap up is fading fast.
$VRT had a nice gain but giving most of it bacl.
$MU holding onto a nice gain. Feels like ball under water action.
Two rules right now. Rule #1 Patience. Rule #2 See rule #1.
I haven't seen this many good set ups in quite a while. If you like tight consolidations/flags they are every where. I had a drop a few names to keep the list manageable. One caveat...the key names are still trying to retake the 50 day in deep bases.
$MU got above the 50 day.
$VRT has found resistance for a few days.
$SNDK resistance today.
$NVDA The AI king looks strong.
Volume is light on all except SNDK which is quite heavy today. Most of these bases are deep. So would expect some struggle to get back to old highs.
Markets bounced and Nasdaq had it's first above average volume day since late June. But little came up on the screens and the $NASI is still in steady decline. Dead cat bounce or start of a bottom. I don't know buy will get focused on names I'm interested in.
It's summer and markets are in a pull back. So let's do a photo share. Share a photo with me. Please reply to original post so they are all together. Tell everyone where it was taken.
View from Cascade Pass. North Cascades National Park Washington.
Retail investors are trying to make something work while the Wall Street types are sipping 12 year old scotch in the Hamptons. I don't see this market improving until after summer.
$MU earnings est are still very high. Doesn't shake my willingness to sit though. As people have said. Strong convictions held loosely. $VRT earnings tomorrow could be a good data point.
Is the AI trade over? I don't think so. I believe many of these names just got way extended. $MU was almost 200% above its 200 day. $SNDK was ~250%. So to bring them down to reality a 40% pullback wouldn't be out of the question. Nasdaq has 20+ days of below average volume.
