@snufflewort Definitely good to check with others so you know what to ask about, for sure. Like did you know you can get a copy of all your records mailed to you by signing a consent form at the records office at BC Cancer? And you should have an appt with oncologist between each treatment.

@snufflewort When I went through chemo in 2019, they were pre booked. Sad to see how much has been lost in terms of follow up care. I felt very well supported by the cancer agency at the time.

@snufflewort Also do you have a follow up appointment coming up? I had one in the middle of each cycle, so I could get help with side effects and plan for next treatment.

@snufflewort When I had to go to the ER while on chemo, they put me immediately into a separate room when I presented the letter from BC Cancer. Might be worth a try? You can always leave if they don’t treat you appropriately.

@snufflewort I’m so sorry to hear this. I never had carboplatin, but got taxol and other things. I was lucky as I didn’t react too badly to it, though I did need some strong meds for taxol pain though. I hope round 2 is a bit better.

@snufflewort @fitter55 My hair didn’t fall out until just after the 2nd, I cut short with undercut after 1st to help cope with it coming out, then shaved it when it was really falling out. I cried a lot. Oh and it hurt a lot too for a few days for extra fun. Eyebrows and lashes lasted much longer.

@snufflewort @f_lugano Exercise really helps deal with fatigue. I found https://t.co/Efoe4R9jOy so helpful. And also a friend loves https://t.co/84j0ZG7utj as well. Lots of supportive people to ask questions to.

@snufflewort I didn’t use them and they weren’t recommended for me- the length of the treatment is a big factor - how long can you stand having your extremities cold for? and if you take them off it defeats the purpose. I decided it wasn’t worth it. Pain meds help.

@snufflewort Chemo side effects are fairly predictable so after the 1st, you will have a better sense of what’s coming. Take all the anti-nausea drugs, they work. Ask if they don’t work. I found days 3-6 after chemo the worst, but it depends. The hair loss is so hard to deal with. #fuckcancer

@JulieSLalonde @TheCurrentCBC I’m one of those people that didn’t have an pain with IUD - do they know why its so different for different women? I took an Advil as I had some mild cramping but otherwise, no pain. I had 3 IUDs as I found it to be the easiest birth control.
