@AMcKellar89 Scottish players in the Scottish league have almost zero chance of getting international recognition so won’t develop or be sold at a value reflecting an international. Clubs are better off bringing players in from countries who will be given a chance of international football.
@coplandup72@AberdeenFC Players get rejected for different reasons. Shankland was rejected by Aberdeen as didn’t have the mentality to play for a big club that’s won multiple European trophies. Mayo got rejected from Rangers as he struggled to get motivated playing for a team founded in 2012.
@GerryHassan It was that Aberdeen and United were so far ahead those days; despite that Celtic still won the league a few times. I think it’s more the set up rather than corruption but if you put this season’s Celtic team in United or Aberdeen strips and they don’t win the league.
@AldoScrim89@wmclean34 To be fair Leven referenced consistency. Whilst soft Aberdeen’s experience of that type of challenge is a penalty and red card. McInnes experienced it at the Dons with Ryan Hedges against Rangers, and Leven with Morrison last week. Anyway good luck to hearts, Dons sadly poor!
@JP22TwentyTwo@RedsDht There was outrage when both Christie and Scales signed on loan with no option to buy. That said after watching scales play, folk were delighted there was no option to buy!
@GrahamAitken14@BillBuffalino@Glen_1903 I though it should have been a straight red card. They banned tackles from behind years ago and this was reckless and out of control, crazy the ref ignored it.
@pieandbov A neutral final should be a 50/50’ticket split and clubs can do whatever they please to sell them to their fans.
Sell them in a way that If they don’t all sell out within a period they can be made available to the opponent if required.
@park_garry Higher up the league table with a more experienced e squad. However we’d be without a Scottish Cup, not in European Group stages and with about £25m less in received transfer fees.
@scotlandscoeff1 Aberdeen got him on the way up, Rangers on the way down. His drive to get to a top league helped make him, but understand he wanted a permanent move for his young family. Dons trading model means they won’t spend big cash on players with no drive to progress to a bigger league.
@ScottBurns75 Multi-dimensional issue, but I’m a big believer you get the values you reward.
Scotland u21, u19 (if possible) should only pick players who are playing first team football -> young players at big clubs realise they’re getting left behind and go to a level they’ll play/develop.
@WilliamHillSPFL Aberdeen are the biggest football club in Scotland as they rely solely on football for their following.
Whilst Rangers and Celtic are bigger businesses, that comes at the expense of a strong sense of soul which is something even Alfredo Di Stefano acknowledged the Dons have.
