We cultivate a love of reading, facilitate independent research, and promote critical thinking and collaboration among our students, staff and community.
As we enter testing season, our students slowly revealed the hidden picture in our collaborative sticker poster from @byStickTogether! When asked what the final image was, we told students to take a step back for a different perspective. #PWCSLibraries#wearepotomac#potomachs
Our #freecomicbookday giveaway was a HUGE success! Panther students enjoyed their choice of a free comic book from our selection. They continue to ask us about it, so we'd love to partner with a local comic store next year to reach even more readers. #wearepotomac#PWCSlibraries
For #nationalibraryweek we hosted daily literacy and library trivia questions for our students! They loved estimating how many books were in the library (15,402)! We had 265 total entries, plus daily winners, and a grand prize winner. #PWCSlibraries#wearepotomac#panthersread
MILES MORALES: SUSPENDED, out today!
This one’s for the real superheroes fighting against the censorship of books. And for the kids those books are about.
Shouts to Zeke Peña for the illustrations!
Our #bookclub practiced a #sayitinsix writing exercise to summarize the plot of a book in 6 words, then illustrate it like an instantgram post. The final step was to write a six word bio. One student said they loved how reflective Book Club was. #PWCSLibraries#wearepotomac
Feast your eyes on a new book! This month students checked out books honoring Native American History Month & authors, food and family, and took part in a Scavenger Hunt locating 12 turkeys in the library. #potomachs#bluebloodnation#panthersread#wearepotomac#PWCSlibraries
