The past couple@of weeks have been spent learning about each other and how to work best together. Here’s a glimpse at somethings we feel:

It was a MINDS ON morning about measurement today! Groups worked to remember different units, methods of using various tools and proper formats for writing distances. There will be carry-over into tonight’s homework😃

Today we are looking at how theoretical probability doesn’t always match the experimental results. We are noticing how our skills with fractions are being applied.

Testing objects for conductivity challenged the grade 6 electricians. They applied their knowledge of circuits to accomplish this procedural task.

Grades 7s are exploring emulsions and how density affects them. It will be interesting to see how things settle during the day!

It’s a morning of discovery! Grade 7s are experimenting with temperature and solubility. Grade 6s are discovering how to set up circuits to light a bulb.

We are working with the element of value in this task. Starting with a hue, shades and tints are created to show light sources and give depth.

We are busy consolidating our understanding of fractions and using this to build our understanding of how decimals and percent relate. Ask about the “Turf Touchdown” question from class today.

It was a beautiful morning for a brisk walk! Grade 7s released their “ecosystems in a jar” into the pond on the Tom Taylor Trail.

The next art task is done and on display! Students worked diligently to show patterns and their personalities! Ask how the swirl was@crested and the word choices that appear on your child’s piece. 😊
