@Enquirer I would think John Schriner would have no problem with continuing to pay to ride the bus as part of his contribution to fund the infrastructure he so much enjoys. He already admits to saving a bundle allowing disposable income to ride.
To the Black people coming after me for not standing with Karmelo Anthony:
I don’t have to support him just because he’s Black.
I don’t owe him allegiance.
I don’t owe him loyalty.
I don’t owe him silence.
A kid is dead. A family is destroyed. And yes, that child happened to be white.
Too many of you are only defending Karmelo because he is Black. If the races were reversed, a lot of you would be screaming from the rooftops and demanding justice every single day.
So miss me with the fake outrage.
Being Black does not mean I have to defend every Black person accused of doing something evil. Being Black does not mean I have to ignore right and wrong. Being Black does not mean I have to celebrate or excuse the death of a child.
I stand on morals, not skin color.
You can be mad at me all you want, but I will never support turning a dead child into a race war just because the accused is Black and the victim was white.
Wrong is wrong.
And I said what I said.
I have seen a lot of disgusting things in my time...
Nothing, and I mean nothing, prepared me for this.
The Charlotte NC DSS director claimed her department “did the job” on a case where a 6 year old girl was found TORTURED...
...LOCKED IN A DOG CRATE, COVERED IN FECES, WITH BROKEN BONES, BURNS, STARVED, AND BEATEN.
The police were SENT TO THE HOME 36 TIMES...
THIRTY-SIX.
Charlotte's DSS did absolutely nothing...
The girl passed away.
This is evil I cannot comprehend.
YOU DID THE JOB?!!!!!!!!!!
YOU ALLOWED A 6-YEAR OLD GIRL TO BE TORTURED FOR MONTHS AND THEN SHE PASSED AWAY WEIGHING 27 POUNDS BECAUSE HER CARETAKERS STARVED HER TO DE*TH!!!!!!
HOW CAN YOU EVEN DEFEND THIS??????
the siple "minimum wage vs tuition" comparison hides several structural changes that make 1978 a different category than today
1978 had ~14% of high schoolers going to 4-year college vs ~35-40% today, federal financial aid was nearly nonexistent then vs hundreds of billions in grants and loans now, universities have massively scaled administration, facilities, and services, the price of "the same product" hides that the product changed substantially
the actual story is tuition outpacing wages by a huge factor AND cost structure expanding AND federal aid infrastructure enabling pricing power, "kids today have to work harder for school" is true and incomplete, the structural answer is universities responding to demand that loans guarantee rather than minimum wage failing to keep u
@jsolomonReports Since Ohio adopted its voter ID law in 2022, 2.18M Ohioans have voted by mail and absentee without presenting photo ID, unlike their in-person counterparts.
Somehow that part of the story keeps getting left out in our haste to rush to mediocrity and headlines.
