Bihari Kayasthas, sidelined by British favoritism toward Bengalis in services , led the push for Bihar’s separation. Through the All-India Kayastha Sabha (1887) and the Bihar Times, they blamed Bengal for Bihar’s decline, fueling the 1912 creation of a separate Bihar and Orissa.

A lot of Ambedkarites are abusing me for this and calling it propaganda against Buddhism, and they keep saying that I have not studied Dr. Ambedkar.
I had complied this thread yesterday only but didn't have time to edit it properly so I am sharing it now. I will explain why Navayana isn't Buddhism, using claims Ambedkar himself made in his book The Buddha and His Dhamma. 🧵
ADI SHANKRACHARYA DIDN'T TAKE IDEAS FROM BUDDHISM
It's a misconception that Adi Shankaracharya stole his ideas from Buddhism. Whatever similarity we see between Buddhism and Advaita comes from Nagarjuna, not from the Buddha. Gautam Buddha's own philosophy has very little in common with Advaita. It is the framework Nagarjuna built that closely resembles Adi Shankaracharya's.
We need to understand that Nagarjuna was born a Brahmin. His earliest biography, attributed to Kumarajiva (c. 405 CE), says he learned the four Vedas as a child and later mastered astronomy (Jyotisha) and the other sciences. It is very likely that he took his core ideas from Vedanta, meaning the Upanishads, and used them to build a philosophy for Buddhism.
Even other Buddhists noticed this. The Hinayana schools criticised the Mahayana by comparing it to Vedanta. The 6th-century Buddhist master Bhavaviveka records their objection:
न बुद्धोक्तिर्महायानं सूत्रान्तादावसंग्रहात् ।
मार्गान्तरोपदेशाद्वा यथा वेदान्तदर्शनम् ॥
na buddhoktir mahāyānaṃ sūtrāntādāv asaṃgrahāt |
mārgāntaropadeśād vā yathā vedāntadarśanam ||
"The Mahayana is not the Buddha's word, because it is not found in the Sutras and the rest of the canon, or because it teaches a different path, like the Vedanta."
Nagarjuna borrowed from Vedanta Tradition and then Adi Shankaraya took it back. Originally those ideas had roots in Vedanta only.
Beohar, a Kayastha surname commonly found in MP, seems to be derived from the administrative title of Vyavahārika. Notable people with this surname include Adhar Singh Beohar, a Srivastava Kayastha, who was the prime minister of Rani Durgavati and represented Garha Katanga in the court of Akbar. The Odia surname Behera also has the same origin. 1/3
