If you believe a foreign government can sail a hospital ship to the edge of US territorial waters, deliver a hundred babies to foreign moms, then promptly sail back to a foreign port, and that every one of those babies is American for life, you don’t believe in nationhood at all.
Socialism isn't "free stuff" it is literally just using your tax dollars doing something to benefit you and other workers instead of using it to buy a stadium for a billionaire. That's it. That's all it is.
If the U.S. is the richest country in the world, why can’t we build a society that delivers the same quality of life as the Nordic countries? We have over 900 more billionaires and millions more millionaires than Norway. So what’s stopping us?
🇺🇸 New York City got a once-in-a-lifetime sunset, right after a severe storm swept through.
America turned 250 and New York really dressed for the occasion.

So ask yourself this question. Mamdani is not just a phenomenon of a political talent but he has learnt from Obama that patriotism is the life blood of leadership. As is joy and hope. Any National Dem could have chosen today to make a speech to the nation. Where are Jeffries or Schumer? Newsom, Shaprio, Pritzker, Ossoff et al. Nature abhors a vacuum and the mayor of NYC has taken the leadership of the opposition to the administration and will hold it until someone else does so. He is using his legal inability to run for the highest office as an advantage to be the national voice of the party through influence rather than ambition. He’s exceptionally good at it.
Obama’s July 4 celebration is going to outdo Trump’s tired 250th version without even trying. I know which one I would rather attend.
📌 This event is the kickoff for the Obama Center's "You Are America" summer series.
BREAKING: Zohran Mamdani's America 250 speech is igniting a political firestorm.
In the address, Mamdani criticized wealth inequality, condemned immigration enforcement carried out by what he called "masked agents terrorizing our streets," and argued for a different vision of American exceptionalism.
Supporters are praising the speech as a bold progressive vision for the country's future, while critics are calling it deeply unpatriotic.
🇺🇸 The fight over what America stands for is becoming one of the defining political battles heading into the midterms.

Zohran Mamdani is giving his America 250th address with newly naturalized citizens and a subtle but brilliant feature of the set is that the desk is backwards, facing the camera. The audience, the civilians, are a piece of the set, at the table, the Peoples Desk. The political savvy is off the charts.
🚨 David Beckham on Cape Verde’s elimination after pushing Argentina to extra time in the FIFA World Cup:
🗣️ “This is the cruelest side of football. Cape Verde have been eliminated, but they leave this tournament with something far more important than just a scoreline—they leave with the respect of the entire football world. They took the defending world champions all the way into extra time and made Argentina fight for every single minute. Nobody expected that before kick-off.
When I think about this performance, I think about Vozinha first. His saves kept Cape Verde alive when many teams would have collapsed. Then you have Deroy Duarte and Sydney Lopes, two players who will forever be remembered in their country’s football history. They scored against Argentina, they believed when so many people doubted them, and they gave millions of Cape Verdeans a night they will never forget.
People will only remember that Argentina qualified, but those who truly understand football will remember how close Cape Verde came to creating one of the greatest upsets in World Cup history. They never hid, they never stopped running, and they never accepted that they were supposed to lose. Every challenge, every tackle, every attack showed a team playing with pride, courage, and absolute belief.
This is not a story of failure. This is a story of a nation announcing itself to the football world. Cape Verde arrived at this World Cup as outsiders, but they leave having proven they belong on the biggest stage. They stretched the world champions to their absolute limit, forced them into extra time, and made them earn every second of their qualification.
Football can be incredibly unfair. Sometimes the team that captures the hearts of everyone watching is not the team that advances. But no whistle can erase what Cape Verde have achieved. Vozinha, Deroy Duarte, Sydney Lopes, and every player wearing that shirt have inspired a generation. Argentina continue their journey, but Cape Verde leave this World Cup as heroes.”
Dear Lucas Herrington,
if you ever read this: The 31 y/o CL winner Leon Goretzka, player of 6 times CL winners Bayern & 4 times World Cup winners Germany didn‘t dare taking a penalty for his nation when they needed him. You did it at 18. You are so brave & a hero in our eyes ❤️
