Learn to quickly replace the feeling of a loss with another victory.

So many young pastors who served their senior pastors for years never are allowed to go start their own work.
This is a problem in the church today.

there is a court order (actually a series of binding judgments) that effectively stops Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) from standing on Nigerian roads to stop vehicles and check particulars.

In October 2024, Justice Nkeonye Evelyn Maha of the Federal High Court in Abuja (in suit FHC/ABJ/CS/1695/2023, filed by lawyer Abubakar Marshal) ruled that no law empowers VIO (or the Directorate of Road Traffic Services/DRTS) to:
Stop motorists on the road,
Demand vehicle particulars,
Impound, confiscate, or seize vehicles,
Impose fines.
The court described these actions as unlawful, oppressive, and a violation of fundamental rights (freedom of movement, presumption of innocence, right to property, fair hearing under the 1999 Constitution and African Charter). It issued a perpetual injunction restraining VIO, its officers, agents, and anyone acting on their behalf from such activities on public roads.
The VIO/DRTS appealed, but on December 4 or 5, 2025, the Court of Appeal in Abuja (in a unanimous decision by a three-member panel, lead judgment by Justice Oyejoju Oyebiola Oyewumi) upheld and affirmed the Federal High Court ruling. The appeal was dismissed for lack of merit. The appellate court reaffirmed that VIO has no statutory power for roadside stops, checks, impoundments, or fines. Their role is limited to vehicle inspections at authorized testing/inspection centres, not on highways or public roads.
The Court of Appeal also awarded costs (e.g., ₦1 million in one report) against the appellant.
This means any VIO standing on roads stopping vehicles to check particulars is acting contrary to these court orders. Earlier judgments (e.g., in Delta State High Court around 2021, affirmed on appeal) reached similar conclusions in specific regions, but the 2024/2025 Abuja decisions have nationwide implications, especially as they involve federal courts and fundamental rights.
