Hey, so I'm starting up this Game Design Twitter thing. I'm gonna post there whenever I learn stuff that I find interesting or vaguely relevant, like from videos, articles or whatever. Also, stuff about trying to actually be in the industry. So, follow that if that sounds cool. https://t.co/2DhsBqFpMa
"Grinding is all in our heads. It's a state of mind, not a state of gameplay. Think about the times when you felt grinding at its worst... you kept playing under the promise of the game being fun again at some point in the future." https://t.co/xukUVrSP4N
@trenquas111711@YachtClubGames It literally says you can also make the game harder with this feature and even showed visual examples, but of course slow knee-jerking morons like you still miss that.
@RazFGC You're absolutely right, but there's an important concept in game design where you have to act like a doctor. Players are great at describing "symptoms" to you but it's a designer's job to make a diagnosis of the "real" issue. It's a really important skill to interpret feedback
@RazFGC A stomp isn't fun for most but it doesn't HAVE to be frustrating. It's frustrating not being able to make intuitive incremental improvements while playing, it's all knowledge checks. There should be better mechanical conveyance/mechanics that make stuff obvious, not less skillful
@shikothecat@drunkpandaboi Why do some FG players think 2 days is a good metric for getting used to the controls of a game? That's horrible, you should be able to use your abilities on command in like an hour at most. Granted they don't have to be easy to use efficiently, just easy to activate.
@drunkpandaboi Some of these FG players are insane. You say "I like not having motion inputs!" and they say "Okay but you'd like motion inputs though." Crazy line of logic lmao
@HUEBERT47 The game itself is going to have a long lifespan, it's going to be fundamentally different than other FGs that die when the sequel comes out. You have time man, the current LoL pros didn't play day 1
@tenuredthemule You don't know me, but hang in there man! Try hitting up the locals if you can, the literal biggest reason I started competing in GB is because I wanted some local friends after moving across the country. Just find some local scene of something you really like!
