Barry has now spent over 160 days in hospital waiting for a suitable placement. Bromley Council is proposing a care home where his bathroom would be shared and has no proper door. He is blind, hearing impaired and has an acquired brain injury. How is this acceptable in 2026?

Barry has been stuck in hospital since 29 April 2026 — not because he needs to be there, but because suitable care still hasn’t been arranged.

This is why hospital beds remain occupied.

He deserves better. So does the NHS.

How can this be allowed in a care home?

A shared shower/toilet with NO DOOR OR CURTAIN, yet a female resident was still allowed to shower there. My sisters had to stay in a bedroom for 15–20 mins while she showered.
