It still hurts how badly Marvel fumbled both Gorr and Thor in Love and Thunder.

You bring in Christian Bale to play Gorr the God Butcher, one of the darkest, most terrifying villains in Marvel Comics and barely show him butchering any gods on screen. Bale acted his heart out, but the script had him playing hide-and-seek with children in the dark.

Meanwhile, Thor’s character was completely butchered. They stripped away all the maturity and warrior weight he had in Infinity War and turned him into a full-blown parody of himself.

Balancing Jane’s cancer arc and Gorr’s rage needed a serious, mythic tone. Instead, we got two hours of non-stop bathos, screaming goats, and undercut stakes. What a massive waste. ⚡💀
