1/ Heute erscheint in der Zeitschrift @IT_Spektrum mein Artikel "Team Cognitive Load - der Arbeitsspeicher des Entwicklungsteams". Ich erkläre, welche Dinge einem Team kognitive Last aufbürden, welche Folgen das haben kann und was man dagegen tun kann.
I've been waiting for a proper Justin Theroux fix since 'The Leftovers' . 'The Mosquito Coast' is here. Weird as ever, compelling as ever. #TheMosquitoCoast#JustinTheroux
I code reviewed a 20-line commit recently.
It took me 90 minutes.
While small, this change touched several fragile parts of a complex, unfamiliar system.
Guess what? About 80 minutes in I found a critical defect.
🔑 takeaway: don't rush code reviews. Seek deep understanding.
I really enjoy doing code reviews. I learn a lot seeing how others do things. I get a better understanding of the code. Knowledge is spread. I can teach things. And it's a nice change looking at a solved problem instead of having to solve one. #codereview#extremeprogramming
5 years ago I didn't think much of code review tools like #GerritCodeReview. Now I wouldn't wanna miss #gitlab's comment/review process. The important thing is not to rely on the tool alone. Code review is a communication process. Coder and reviewer have to talk to each other!
3️⃣ Seek the relentless reviewer.
There’s always that one person on every team. Nobody’s work is good enough. They nitpick everything.
Find this person. Have them review your work as much as possible. The more constructive feedback you receive, the faster you'll learn.

Having client libraries for your microservices is one of those things that unfortunately sounds like a great idea to many people but in practice it mostly causes pain.
