One line from Habakkuk 3:19 really helped me this week.
“I will rely on the Lord.”
When Habakkuk says this, his legs are shaking and his heart is pounding. He knows his nation will be invaded. The future is uncertain. Everything around him feels unstable.
Most of us, in that moment, would look for a place to sit down and catch our breath.
But Habakkuk does something different.
He says the Lord makes his feet like the feet of a deer and sets him on the heights.
Because of his faith in the Lord, he is able to stand firm and keep moving forward. Like a deer climbing the mountain, he is sure-footed and able to go higher than he has ever gone before.
Sometimes God allows us to walk through valleys not to push us down, but to draw us nearer to Him and lift us above our circumstances.
God made us for the heights.
If He allows us to go through the valley, it is so we might learn to wait on Him and rise above what once overwhelmed us.
David experienced the same thing when he was surrounded by enemies:
Psalm 18:32–33
“It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect.
He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on my high places.”
Habakkuk reminds us of something we all need to remember.
God does not always change our circumstances.
But He can change us to meet our circumstances.
That is what it means to live by faith.
You know who always shows up before FEMA in natural disasters? The Southern Baptist Convention. They always show up with chainsaws and tractors and bottles of water and food and prayer and hope. Every. Single. Time. They beat the gov’t after Katrina, Michael, and now Helene.

You don't create Culture.
Culture is a Rolling Average of the actions taken in your team or organization.
Preaching Culture and Values and then not taking Action that reflects them actively reduces the Rolling Average of your companies culture.

Leadership is born when toleration ends…. Whatever you tolerate you will never change. When you decide I have had enough, a leader is about to be born. Toleration is the graveyard of leaders. - Dr Myles Munroe
