I am not using my account here to comment on things often, but this news story needs a comment:
How is it possible that a professional European politician in 2026 does not see the very obvious historical parallels of supporting the idea of creating lists of Jews?
Bank of England axes Winston Churchill, Alan Turing and Jane Austen from future banknotes after being told they are not “representative of the UK’s cultural and natural diversity”
The decision was made as part of the redesign of new polymer notes.
Officials were advised that the three historic figures do not reflect modern Britain’s diversity.
Churchill featured on the £5 note, Turing on the £50 note, and Austen on the £10 note.
The move has triggered fury from historians and politicians who called it an attempt to rewrite British history.
The Bank of England has confirmed the three will not feature on any forthcoming notes.
Thoughts?
The official representative body for Muslim police officers in Britain has branded Zionism "one of the manifestations of anti-Muslim hatred," described the Israel Defence Force as a "Zionist terrorist group" and defended Hamas against "unverified stories about acts of violence.".
The inflammatory claims are made by the National Association of Muslim Police (NAMP) in a policy paper on "confronting anti-Muslim hatred," written by its then vice-president, Khaldoun Kabbani, published on its website last year but not publicised until now.

Some Celtic fans apparently seem opposed to Robbie Keane as he was managing an Israeli football team at the time of the October 7 Hamas atrocity. Forever tainted apparently. I wonder how many of these experts in geo-politics have been to Israel.
Very sad to find out that Embrace Life and Cook Central in Church Street, St Andrews are no more. They were great shops and appeared to be independents but have closed down.
I remember the quality of football in scotland in my generation. School, amateur, junior, pro. Every street in the land. It was the currency of the day.
Most could play decent; many guys were excellent; loads were international class. Some world class.
The Key Match Incident [KMI] Panel have decided that Celtic should not have been awarded a penalty in their penultimate Premiership fixture against Motherwell.
This is despite Willie Collum's public backing of John Beaton's decision.
What a mess.

Official - it wasn’t a penalty. SPFL investigate two Celtic games, Inverness title clincher & two play-off fixtures - BBC Sport https://t.co/bBVGXwre1B
This unequivocally confirms three things:
a) The game had not finished.
b) The referee had not blown the whistle.
c) The much ended because of the pitch invasion, and the perceived safety risk to Hearts players.
There's no ambiguity now.
