We are still tracking a vote to confirm Pete Hegseth as Defense Secretary at 8:57 pm et tonight, barring an agreement to speed things up.

A senior Senate GOP source tells Fox there are “still a few issues” with members (plural) toward his confirmation.

Fox has also learned that there should be full attendance here tonight. But Fox was told there’s a possibility that the vote to confirm Hegseth could be held open, allowing a senator to arrive late and vote.

Keep in mind that if it’s a tie, Vice President Vance can break the tie.

Only one Vice President has ever broken a tie to confirm a cabinet offical. That was former Vice President Pence in February, 2017 to confirm Betsy DeVos as Education Secretary
