You suspended the fundamental Charter rights of teachers just to avoid properly funding public education - and you expect us to "trust" you again?
Never. Never again.

Check out this video, "video of Danielle Smith making Public HC guarantees Apr 11 2023"
Please watch. Danielle Smith lied to all Albertans, including her Conservative membership and accused the NDP of “fearmongering”.
She lied to all of us. https://t.co/gqt3xX44pq
This external report said that Alberta's teachers are facing more work with fewer supports and dwindling funding - and are burning out because of it.
The UCP gov't response? Too bad, so sad - no rights for you.
Never forget.

Where the hell have you been for 2 years where students shared desks and took classes in hallways? Where were you then @demetriosnAB
Where have you been? You’ve been told over & over what’s needed, yet AB. remained the least funded in Canada.
The trouble with the UCP's dual practice model?
Think about a double double.
If the line at Tim’s is long because there’s only 1 person pouring coffee, opening an “express lane” for people who tip $20 doesn’t speed things up. It means those with more money get the coffee.
No government is above the rule of law. Invoking the notwithstanding clause to override fundamental human rights is undemocratic and cannot stand.
Tomorrow it will be your rights at risk.
"If Dynalife was this bad I can't imagine how bad #Corruptcare is..." !
ALBERTA : Public Inquiry & Police Investigation must be started with #Corruptcare . 109 MILLION ? UCP?
This would have gone along way to help Healthcare & Teachers from strike action. $$$ 109M ?
Lost in the Bill 9 conversation: the Bill actually strips away parental rights. Think your kid should receive a certain type of care, and the doctor agrees?
TOUGH. Danielle says “no”. And you have no right to go to court. She’s in charge of your kid, now.

I knew that this day was coming. The UCP had been warning for months that they were going to take away the rights of transgender people (not just children but adults too). I thought I was prepared. But I am still very angry that it has happened.
Can we talk about THIS page for a minute?!?
AHS, while under the direct command & control of Smith and the UCP ACTIVELY destroyed evidence provided to them?
And records were withheld despite Smith’s promises?
The AG comes just shy of calling a coverup!

“When a government grants itself license to override physician judgment and patient consent, who - at any stage of life — will be next?”
The AMA raising very serious concerns about the UCP’s invocation of the notwithstanding clause.
#abpoli#ableg#cdnpoli
This is an interesting approach:
1 Refuse binding arbitration - cuz a third party might think these concerns need addressing in a contract?
2 Take away teachers constitutional rights for 4 yrs.
3 Come back and pat the teachers on the head: “there, there, we take you seriously”
Hi 👋 @demetriosnAB
“Fight back”? Against WHAT, Demetrios?
People legally exercising the recall your own government bragged about?
You’re not a victim — you’re being evaluated.
Stop acting like democracy is an attack.

#ALBERTA, WHO LET THE FOX INTO THE HENHOUSE?
After todays pressor, I'm not sure the Premier of Alberta knows what democracy is? 😕
Wait, let me get this straight: The UCP rams through their own Recall Act (Bill 52) back in 2021, bragging about "empowering voters" and holding politicians accountable... only to watch recall petitions explode against their MLAs after they abused the notwithstanding clause to crush teachers' rights. Now, reports say they are scrambling to gut or repeal their precious law because it is biting them in the ass? Hypocritical authoritarians much? Democracy for me, but not for thee. Albertans deserve better than this circus.
Canada is not a republic — we are a constitutional monarchy with Westminster parliamentary democracy. You cannot rewrite the Constitution or the meaning of democracy using the notwithstanding clause.
Here is the truth: In our system, any Alberta law (or federal law) can be challenged in court the day it passes if it violates the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This powerful, built-in judicial review is a core feature of Canadian Westminster democracy — and it works. Since 1982, courts have struck down or reformed over 120 Alberta laws alone.
Our fundamental rights trump bad legislation. That is not judicial activism — that’s Westminster with constitutional teeth. #ableg #abpoli #cdnpoli #CharterOfRights #CanadianDemocracy
