@jasoncdivis The focus from fasting is due to 1) your brain running off of ketones, which are an optimal fuel source, 2) blood flow/energy not being focused on digesting food. I hope this helps! I think the answer to this question differs slightly for multi day fasting vs intermittent.
@jasoncdivis Drinking water is waking your digestive system up (and might help you eliminate), but not the same as when you eatโฆ When you eat, blood flows to your digestive system for several hours. This causes the grogginess after a large meal.
@jasoncdivis Great question @jasoncdivis ! During a fast, the body gradually switches from using food/glycogen for fuel to ketones/fat, after 24 hrs most food and glycogen stores are fully depleted and ketosis begins.
