Women hate Hatchet because reading it requires putting themselves in the mind of a man who needs to calmly and repeatedly solve problems all while not talking to anyone
The first novel I ever loved was the survival classic Hatchet, but recently I’ve learned that a *lot* of women despise this book, and see it is as something they were forced to read in school to entice the idiot illiterate boys in their English class. I dove into that tension!
@Trust_Lion_ There’s a comic bit in Gone With the Wind (the novel not the film) where the Northern whites who move to the South after the war are horrified by slavery, but they’re even more horrified when they ask Scarlett to recommend a nanny and she recommends a black woman
@zapatas_mom One of the things that makes your account interesting, as well as annoying, is that there are all these contradictions between what women say and do (hence “the Red Pill.”) — but you just tweet stuff straight out of the female id
@zapatas_mom Women who are too frank about these things, with others and with themselves, have lost a part of their femininity. Women “lie” because they don’t want to be mean.
A world where women are all honest and open about this stuff is a monkey’s paw situation
@zapatas_mom Women were always doing this. Broadcasting this information to the world does not harm men, beyond shocking and irritating them. In the long run the gender it hurts is women
@justalexoki Back in the day a medical researcher came to talk to my college bio class about HIV and another student asked why it’s so prevalent in the gay community. The guy said, well first, greater promiscuity is a factor, and second, “anal sex does involve a certain amount of tearing”
@zapatas_mom I’ll return the favor:
Men want to marry women that they cherish. A man’s ability to cherish a woman comes from the feeling that her sexuality belongs to him.
@zapatas_mom Here’s a nice compromise: the woman can sleep around with other men before she gets commitment from the man she’s withholding sex from, and then the man can sleep around with other women after they get married
@zapatas_mom The male obsession with this issue is not that a nice girl might get taken advantage of and then be more careful in the future. It’s that a girl might “have her fun” when she’s young before settling for a man she’s not attracted to and plans to use as a sexless ATM
@zapatas_mom The situation you’ve described is common, and it is not the one that men worry about when they are experiencing what you’ve called “cuck anxiety”
