Dear UK Journalists. I suspect some of you are going to be rightly asked to write up the striking jump in SARS-CoV-2 cases registered today by PHE, and quite rightly. This is the "raw" case plot data. Some notes on this:
Early analysis from @Imperial_JIDEA @MRC_Outbreak suggests that relaxing social distancing in China is showing initial success, indicating that the measures enacted in China have led to control of #COVID-19 in the country https://t.co/xkKLcb5LUw
@KenMuskat@PortMiami@MSCCruisesUSA Hope to reschedule my cancelled 03/14 Seaside cruise for next year. Hopefully get to use my St.Patricks Day costume then!
Northern Ireland weekly flu surveillance report for epi week 1 from @publichealthni
Further confirming that we are well past peak for Flu-A H3. Now Flu-A H1N1(2009) possibly starting.
Flu-B not started yet.
Still well worth getting vacinated!

Six #Texas children have now died from flu this season. 4 of them not vaccinated (despite recommendations) other 2 unknown. #Influenza#vaccine = 1 of 3 major vaccines targeted by #antivax along with MMR, HPV. Flu is a major cause of pediatric deaths https://t.co/pKwnqtyo2a
Hopefully that is us peaked now!
But Flu-B and Flu-A H1 both likely to come in the new year!

@ConallMcCaughey@publichealthni Definiately seeing many more POCT and local labs testing this year. Here's hoping it was an early peak and things start their downward descent! H1 seems to be lurking in the background each week so may see more of this strain in the coming weeks
