High Concept Shorts & Visual Art 🧬 Expanding creativity to its outer limits 🛸 Blender+Grok Imagine ✨ Tune in and warp in! 📸 A One Consciousness Studio💫
Good afternoon, everybody! 🛸
Overjoyed to finally share a homage side project celebrating three creators I absolutely love via my own lens:
Dertalix Studios Spotlight: Original Creators 🧬
@paranoidream@GlennHasABeard@JenniferNe83522
Thread below → their original projects + full BTS on every Grok quirk I tamed (missing noses, rogue logos, the works..!)
Music by the wonderful paranoidream.
Produced with Grok Imagine → tastefully upscaled & polished in post.
Which segment was your favorite in terms of theme?
Any Vol 2 wishes?
@JacobsLattice Been working on some other projects for a while now. But time goes too quick I don’t know what’s happening. Someone put the simulation at x3 speed I think 😂
Pecho y Pluma is fire btw!🔥
@JacobsLattice Meant to reply to this earlier! Thanks man, same good to you see around as well. Been a bit behind the scenes lately but still popping up here and there 🛸😅👍
Wrote this as a reply to another xAI employee, thought I would paste it here as well:
Feedback:
On an old project with a very ultra wide aspect ratio, videos could be created and the aspect ratio was maintained. When I went back to it in 2.0, the video comes out stretched inwards vertically if that makes sense.
So there is a bug. I will test and see if as a new image it’s fine, but at least going back to an old project with a custom aspect ratio it gets broken.
Also, some old projects lost their original prompts after the latest updates.

@mattworkman@reidhannaford Yeah, the character animations were a bit much, suddenly everybody is an animator.
Simple camera movements ok sure…they went a bit too far with their theater 😂
@mattworkman Bookmarked, will give it a watch properly later on. I have followed your work since seeing you experiment with motion capture back in the day 👍💫
It’s quite wild to see how things are advancing in tech. Seems it’s just going to keep going faster and faster.
Also, enabling direct reference image uploads layered onto the extend function would strengthen consistency for extended scenes and characters.
I was wondering, every version seems to have its own little quirks and ways of working with prompts and animations and audio.
Would it be possible for us be able to pick the model for a given video? For example, Grok Imagine 0.8 and 0.9 had some very interesting output in terms of animation and audio that I haven’t fully been able to replicate in v1.
If we could pick the model as well on top of resolution and video length, it would really open up a lot of avenues. For one video we could pick v1 or 1.5, 2.0, eventual 3.0 or go for 0.8 for another specific video.
Hope this is possible at some point.
Looking forward to testing v2!

@tetsuoai Seeing this list, I wish they would let us pick between prior Grok Imagine models as well. They behave different and have their own cons and pros.
Early testing with the quality images. Looks great so far! But, one thing that comes to mind right now, both in images and particularly videos:
Sometimes we get the option to pick option A or option B.
While usually there is a clear preference for me between them, sometimes I like both! Can we get the option to keep both as well please? 😅✌️
@doctor_chain@YknZhu@grok@imagine Yeah it’s a shame….Oh while I’m at it I hope in the future the extended versions maintain the same resolution as the original video…I have noticed that the resolution keeps degrading 😅 @YknZhu
Hmm, yeah that could sort of work for some things, but if you have a very specific out of the norm object or character design, that’s not going to work.
If you want a character to appear on the 15 second mark, so on your first extend, it’s really just going to be a roll of the dice how it looks because it won’t have the reference you need to feed it. If consistency is required it’s a no go for the moment.
I actually put a couple of references on the first video generation, with only a few called in the first video as I didn’t want x character to appear yet but only in further extends, but then found out the whole reference system is gone when extending. I was surprised. Hope they can add this soon though!
