Spain is not allowing ships carrying arms to Israel to call at its ports, the country’s foreign minister said, in keeping with its commitment to not “contribute to war”.

The European nation refused to let a ship carrying 27 tonnes of explosives from India to Haifa dock at the Cartagena port, El País reported.

"This is the first time we have done this because it is the first time we have detected a ship carrying a shipment of arms to Israel that wants to call at a Spanish port," José Manuel Albares, the foreign minister, said in Brussels on Thursday

"This will be a consistent policy with any ship carrying arms to Israel that wants to call at Spanish ports. The foreign ministry will systematically reject such stopovers for one obvious reason: the Middle East does not need more weapons, it needs more peace."

6- I normally do not share my personal stories here, but I felt obliged to showcase the level of #anxiety, #fear, and #unrest the stabbing incident and its premature labeling as a terrorist attack (without any thorough investigation).

5- My son made me cut my visit short hastily and drive them back home. He also made sure that I wore a hoodie to cover my scarf so that we would not be a target while driving home last night. While trying to handle his anxiety.

4- For the first time in my life, I saw my teenager son so anxious that he called me to come back from a visit and take them back home, where it may not be a center of target due to the scarcity of Muslim population and mosques in our neighborhood.

3- Labeling it a #terroristattack at an early stage also heightened the #anxiety and #fear within the Muslim community under the current climate. Too many rumors about attacks on #hijabiwomen and #mosques were shared yesterday on social media and WhatsApp.

2- I can imagine how anxious the #ChristianCommunities must feel while attending a sermon this weekend. My thoughts and prayers are with the church communities and all faith communities.
