🚨I need HELP, urgently. @rpopune took back my tatkal passport and shows no sign of returning it soon. I need to fly out of India in TEN days. Here’s my ordeal:
- Renewed my passport in early April in Pune and received it in tatkal within 2 days. Great!
- Received a text message from my local police station to come over for police verification.
- When I went, I was told that my “file” hadn’t been sent by @rpopune and I should ask them to resend it. When I call @rpopune l, I’m told my file has somehow already been cleared by the local police station and has been sent to @CPPuneCity for clearance.
- A few days later, I get a letter from @rpopune asking me to visit them in person and reinitiate police verification since local police station claimed I didn’t show up.
- I visit. They keep my new passport and make me fill up a police verification reinitiation form. My police verification finally happens at local police station later that day.
- Now I am told that my verification is pending @CPPuneCity clearance and my passport will only be mailed back once that is done. I was told to visit @CPPuneCity in person to check what the status is. Until @rpopune doesn’t get clearance from @CPPuneCity, they can’t mail my passport back.
I am an NRI working abroad. I need to fly out of the country in TEN days. What is the point of paying Rs. 3500 for a tatkal passport if I am still being made to run around for a month for police verification?
I urgently need my passport back!

Milan closed one door.
Centrale Méditerranée opened another.
Now I need £1000 urgently to secure my place.
I don’t want another dream to slip away.
Please help me hold on to this chance.
The dark history of the US military base at Diego Garcia exposed. The UK and US forcibly removed thousands of indigenous people from their homes just to build a launchpad for their bombers and nuclear submarines. Absolute imperialism and ethnic cleansing.
But definitely dont ask why the United States has a military base 15,000km away from its territory, on a coral island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, that was illegally cleansed of all of its native inhabitants to make way for the installation
The fact that Iran had all these missiles and didn’t use them despite grave provocation for years should tell the world they’re far more ready to be a responsible nuclear power than most in the West
I got a tiny bit bored of talking about Chennai's positives, and decided I would burn a few rainforests and dry out a river or two to do this:

Deepinder stepping down as Eternal CEO was not on my bingo card
I guess there has been some cumulative effect of all the non-Zomato projects + the conversation around gig workers spiralling
I'd say one of the best public CEOs in recent times created almost $20B of value
a reporter spent a day as a ncr resident and found the breathing hard, the headache sharp and the eyes burning.
what the reporter did not do was spend a day doing what a ncr resident would have done if the air hadn’t existed at all.
By their own admission, the 10-minute target was never written down, only imposed on riders. So, this is window-dressing. PR was never the issue. Exploitation packaged as efficiency was. Dignity doesn't magically arrive with the slogan’s exit.

Moreover, the skills that will “let you figure it out if you had to” is just social capital and privilege. If I were you, I’d be grateful things worked out for me and not use secondhand stories to make a “oh look I made it despite the world trying to bring me down” point lol
Hey so dunking on people who don’t have a book deal or enough money to cover for their meds isn’t the vindication arc you think it is. Good on you for having had a ‘successful’ career or whatever but you don’t have to be so smug about it.
