Remember February?
We do too! Huge shout out to everyone who helped make the DeSci Summit real. It's about time to start thinking about how we'll make it even better! ๐

@Cerebrum_DAO Brings together a whole community of people to fight Alzheimers and other neurodegenerative diseases.
They helped us at the DeSci Summit to bring more brains together to help brains!
Huge shout out to @MatthewAkamatsu for demonstrating how we can move from a mono-crop of PIs to a permaculture of scientists.
We wish we worked in a lab, just to try it out!
TLDR: Discourse graphs leverage scientists' current note-taking workflow to inform a scienctific process where everyone has context, can build on that context, and be credited for it.
Individuals document relevant learnings, experiments, results, and research questions and share them collectively in a graph. Everyone can explore these notes together through question-based journal clubs, lab discussions, and ad-hoc mentorship networks.
Currently, 'Researcher' means a hodge-podge of as many tasks as you're willing to perform.
@MatthewAkamatsu walked us through this jack-of-all-trades approach, and what it takes to shift that approach for a more diverse, collective research ecosystem.

Matt uses discourse graphs, a tool crafted by @joelchan, within his lab. Functionally, these graphs are a structured approach for organizing and connecting elements that researchers often document in their notes, such as questions, claims, evidence, issues, and results.
Since their creation, research communities worldwide have picked up the FAIR principles. We're thrilled to be able to follow how GoFAIR is developing them into a process for FAIRification of the internet.
A server, like an airport, organizes data transport across the internet. Think briefly - how many bags would we lose if we didn't label them?
Today's internet still doesn't agree on how to label our data.
@GOFAIRofficial is trying to fix that.

Guiding that process is what @GOFAIRofficial is doing. They bring research communities around FAIR implementation profiles (FIPs) to codify community decisions in the technologies they use.
