NEW: Japanese ski jumper Ryōyū Kobayashi sets ski flying and ski jump world record, flying 291 meters through the air before successfully landing.

According to RedBull, Kobayashi smashed the record by nearly 40m. The jump was made in Iceland.

Kobayashi flew through the air for a whopping 10 seconds.

"It's difficult to put this feeling into words. This is my dream come true. This experience will up level my career, this record will be my source of strength going forward," he said.

Insane.
