@EddieTrunk El Paso was only about 40% sold on the concert at the Sun Bowl. I don't think they should've played in such a large venue. Not enough interest.
@SSN_UTEP I started my studies at UTEP in 1988, and all I can recall are multiple visits to the tournament in the subsequent years and consistently sold-out crowds at the DHC! I miss those days.
41 years ago today, February 16, 1985, UK/US supergroup The Power Station hit the Saturday Night Live stage. It marked the only time Robert Palmer ever performed live with the band’s original lineup, which featured members of Duran Duran and Chic.
Their cover of “Get It On (Bang a Gong)” later climbed to #9 on Billboard’s Hot 💯, one spot higher than T. Rex’s 1971 original.
Why was the guy that directs award recipients at @goldenglobes always in the sight line of the camera as the acceptance speeches were going on? He should've been off camera.
