We are deeply saddened by the passing of Suns legend Dick Van Arsdale, the “Original Sun” and a member of our Ring of Honor.
The first selection in the expansion draft to build the Suns roster and the scorer of the first points in team history, Van Arsdale was a cornerstone of the Suns organization. He earned three All-Star selections, was a member of the team’s first trip to the NBA Finals in 1976 and retired as the franchise’s all-time leading scorer in 1977. Beloved throughout the Suns organization and fanbase, Van Arsdale held several positions with the team, including broadcaster and front office executive, following his 12-year NBA career.
Our thoughts are with his friends and family, including his twin brother and Suns teammate, Tom, during this difficult time.
Kenny Dillingham's perspective on ASU players who are entering the transfer portal:
"Our guys have the opportunity to stay on our football team, and they're like, 'We'll go in (the portal) at the end,' and I go, 'No, that's not fair to you to go in after our run is over. I want you to have the best opportunity to find a spot. You can go in day one right now, we'll help you find a spot, and stay on our football team if you want to stay on our football team and let's go on this ride together the rest of the way.'"

@GrahamRossini Please get them some new threads! As classic look as their uniforms are, they’ve been wearing them almost 20 years now. Adidas has been great getting them warm ups and other clothing for as long as they have been our brand. It’s the marching uniforms that are so old.
@AZSports Uh, any developer buying that property expects to put in the necessary infrastructure as part of the permit process - and paying the huge permit fees to the city to develop it.
@CanadyTamar@Dbacks Yeah, they always cruise around there until it's time. We were having dinner last night and when I heard the engine noise I realized it must be time for the flyover.
