This has nothing to do with anything, but I want to acknowledge the most ridiculous Microsoft "feature" I have encountered: my Excel was freezing whenever I tried to bold text. The solution? Apparently changing my default printer to "Print to PDF" ... obviously.
There's still time! @CornellAEP is hiring for a tenure-track faulty position. If you or anyone you know is an outstanding applied physics researcher/teacher (and doesn't mind being my colleague), please apply and share! https://t.co/Hfb2Gi55kQ
Finally not (submitted), (under review), or (in press)!!
Our work demonstrating you can make a magnet better using THz light is now online @Nature. Fantastic collaboration incl. @MPSDHamburg@NarangLab@mpifkf.

@RBComes @kumahlab@MJ20082 I personally would feel good about a test (rapid ok) + vaccination requirement for attendees + masking strongly encouraged. Maybe I’m on the too cautious side. Having masks and things like sanitizer available is super helpful too.
@jennifer_fowlie I know what you mean. For now, I can say that I stand with anyone who doesn’t want to be forced to give birth for whatever reason, and I will aid those who need help finding care.
For all my academic friends: I know it’s “safer” to not take a stance, but silence is not an option right now. So much seems to be going backwards in this country so quickly. Deciding what happens with one’s own health/life/body is a basic human right.
I did it!!! Finally reached 500+ connections status on @LinkedIn. I want to thank all of those high school friends I haven’t talked to in years for accepting my connect requests. #networking#almostfamous
@jennifer_fowlie I met Brian Josephson a couple years ago at the Lindau meeting and spoke with him at length. I’m not going to lie—he has some good points. Plus, he’s a super nice dude and probably did a lot of psychedelics so I give him a pass.
@DanielePreziosi So sad I can’t make it this year! Such a beautiful venue! Hope you were able to catch my talk on light control of magnetism. I’ll definitely stop by your poster.
