Police don’t prevent crime. They show up after it happens. Crime prevention starts with funding social programs and creating opportunity.

Teaching children that they have to obey and respect every adult opens them up to being taken advantage of and abused. Not every adult is trustworthy, knows what theyre doing, and has good intentions.

You can’t fucking accidentally take an innocent person life, you can’t make life changing decisions like that and go back and say oh I pulled out the gun instead of the taser?! WHAT KIND OF TRAINING YALL MOTHERFUCKERS GETTING?! THIS MAN WAS 20 YEARS OLD YOU!

We do too much explaining. Let them think and believe what they feel. Be at peace with what you know to be true.

My brother pays $300 a month for 30 days worth of insulin. It’a messed up in many ways saying he can’t live without it.

[James Talarico @jamestalarico]

3 years ago I almost slipped into a coma and died. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

I paid $684 for my first 30-day supply of insulin. Some pay $1000+ a month. Many die without it.

Today I introduced legislation to cap the price of insulin at $50 a month. #txlege
