Our @RNLI volunteers alerted 4.24pm Saturday, after a dog went over a cliff at Park Head, north of Bedruthan Steps and owner scrambled down cliff in an attempt to rescue his pet. Lifeboat crew rescued both, taken to Newquay Harbour, dog sadly later died at vets. #999Coastguard

@designoutdrown @cornwall4dogs @DevonLovesDogs We advise dog owners to always keep dogs on a lead when on cliff paths. It can be tempting to let your dog walk off lead especially if they are used to it and are well trained, but accidents on coastal walks are sadly not uncommon. Keeping your dog on a lead can protect you both.
