The 42-floor Torre K hotel, built for elites and foreign visitors, sits shuttered, towering over a city where everyday Cubans struggle with precarious living standards. Torre K serves as a permanent reminder to the Cuban people that the illegitimate regime only cares about enriching itself – not improving their standards of life.
After years of unjust imprisonment for challenging the Marxist tyranny of the Cuban regime, Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara has arrived in the United States. The Cuban government's brutal crackdown against its own people five years ago is yet another reminder of the unique misery and evil that is innate to the communist system. We continue to demand the immediate release of all political prisoners held by the Cuban regime. https://t.co/RrafNELtS1
Today marks five years since the Communist Cuban regime brutally suppressed the peaceful July 11 demonstrations and yet again silenced Cubans’ cries for basic rights, dignity, and opportunity. To this day, hundreds of Cubans remain unjustly detained, suffering brutal conditions, for the simple sin of asking why Cubans cannot freely own businesses, participate in the political process, or provide for themselves and their families. The regime must release these political prisoners immediately.
President Trump and I want a better future for Cuba, in which Cubans have greater opportunity, freedom, dignity, and Cuba ceases to harbor hostile foreign military, intelligence, terror, and subversive operations 90 miles from the American homeland. The United States will continue to use every tool at our disposal to drive significant economic and political reforms in Cuba and to protect Americans from subversive threats emanating from Cuba.

Yesterday’s six-hour UN meeting on Cuba cost $168,000—money that could’ve fed thousands of Cuban children.
Instead, the UN gave the Communist regime a stage for its propaganda while 10 million Cubans sat in a nationwide blackout.
It's time to stop the empty theatrics and put resources where they actually matter.

Today, on Cuba’s Independence Day, I spoke directly to the Cuban people from my heart as a Cuban immigrant who had to flee a murderous communist and socialist dictatorship in search of freedom in the United States of America.
For more than six decades, the Cuban people have suffered under repression, censorship, hunger, blackouts, political persecution, and fear while the elite of the dictatorship continues living with privileges and wealth. The problem has never been the Cuban people. The true obstacle has always been the communist and socialist regime that destroyed freedom, destroyed the economy, and destroyed the future of an entire nation.
But the world is watching, and the Cuban people are no longer silent. Freedom for Cuba is getting closer every single day because no dictatorship lasts forever.
To every Cuban inside and outside the island: never lose faith. The truth will prevail, freedom will rise again, and Cuba will one day be free, democratic, and prosperous once more.
Patria y Vida.
Patria y Vida.

WATCH: 🇨🇺🇺🇸 Secretary of State Marco Rubio gave remarks in Spanish addressed to the people of Cuba.
SEC RUBIO: The reason you are FORCED to survive without electricity is not an OIL BLOCKADE by America... is because the people who control it have PLUNDERED billions of dollars, but NOTHING has been used to help the people.
30 years ago, Raúl Castro founded a company called GAESA. This company is owned by the Armed Forces and operated by them, and has income three times higher than the current budget of his government!"
Today, while you are suffering, these entrepreneurs have $18 billion in assets and control 70% of Cuba's economy.
They obtain profits from hotels, constructions, banks, stores, and even the money that their relatives send them from the United States.
Everything, everything goes through their hands. From those remittances, they retain a percentage, but nothing comes to you from the profits of GAESA.
Outraged by the Israeli strikes that have killed many displaced persons in Rafah.
These operations must stop. There are no safe areas in Rafah for Palestinian civilians.
I call for full respect for international law and an immediate ceasefire.
