Ongoing assessments are particularly important for English language learners. Standardized tests in English do not usually reflect ELLs' true content knowledge or abilities. Yet informal assessments can provide a more well-rounded picture of their skills and abilities. #EDUC5350

Assessing students with learning disabilities can be challenging. But assessments are important; they provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate knowledge, skill, and understanding. Most learners with exceptionalities, a paper-and-pencil task isn't beneficial. #EDUC5350

It's important to use constructed response assessment's as well as selected responses assessment. With constructed response assessments answers are not visible and student's must recall or construct the answer. They are conducive to higher level thinking skills. #EDUC5350

Using Selected-response assessments have many important advantages. They are objectively scored, are easy to automate and are quick to respond to. They are also easy to analyze and relatively easy to construct and modify over time. #EDUC5350

When planning to implement a summative assessment in order for it to be most effective it must include these 5 elements, authenticity, reliability, volume, validity and variety. The information gathered by using summative assessments is of great importance. #5350
