The Obama administration issued a Dear Colleague letter in 2016 commanding schools to treat any boy who says he is a girl like he is actually a girl and give him access to the girls bathroom and changing room. The letter specifically stated that concerns of privacy or comfort or safety of the girls had no standing. It threatened to pull federal funding from any school that didn't follow the guidance.

The Trump administration pulled this guidance in 2017. The Biden Administration went through a years long rulemaking and comment process and installed the same mandate in 2021. A federal judge found the new rule to violate Title IX and the US constitution and vacated it.

The Trump Administration is now trying to force schools to comply with the original meaning of Title IX.

Girls who have been brainwashed from elementary school to believe that any boy who says he is a girl actually is a girl know better than anyone else that this claim is not true. (Everyone else also knows it, including those enforcing the laws forcing boys into the private spaces of girls.)

The girls are starting to speak up and they are starting to be punished and coerced by their schools for telling the truth. They are starting to demand their own private spaces from which boys are excluded, a demand that can only be refused on the basis of delusional falsehoods that the state has pledged to uphold at any cost -- a demand that the politicians supporting these laws can no longer defend. The girls are going to keep pressing their case throughout the Blue strongholds because it is there that the imposition is most onerous on them.

And the state is going to have to keep repressing and coercing them in ways that make clear that "trans rights" was always about taking away the rights of other groups and punishing them if they don't agree that the basic falsehoods at the core of the movement is true.

Only sharing that it hasn't been true, in my own professional experience, that rehabs will never bring it up. Many of us first learned about MAT for AUD in rehab.
