@hammycfc@afneil possibly some of the football journo’s I followed were left leaning and heavily “remain” which may explain why i saw this stuff.
Defund the police because of lefty rhetoric (institutional racism, there are no criminals etc) v Tory austerity are two very different things.
@hammycfc@afneil Pre musk you absolutely did see tweets from people you didn’t follow, “recommended tweets” if i remember correctly. Before searching anything you would also see Twitter moments, curated by twitter employees and heavily pushing lefty nonsense like “defund the police”.
@hammycfc@afneil whatever. i deleted my previous account after becoming sick of brexit and trump related tweets, despite using the account primarily for football news. Most will remember “twitter moments” and the utter lefty drivel pushed by the organisation, pre musk.
@hammycfc@afneil i’ve been here since 2011 and before musk it was a left wing propaganda machine, you just don’t like how the pendulum has swung. nothing is stopping left wing views being aired, but if you don’t like it you can go to bluesky
@Lukky079@Aliathewhite In ww2, 99% of indians were stationed on the indian/burmese border to protect their own country from japanese invasion.
That small island had the largest, most powerful navy in the world.
@TheSaintofSimon@shocklifek@IfindWankers it’s unbelievable the utter drivel they invent. it’s a matter of historical record that windrush was not wanted. in fact we were trying to offload excess population following the war to australia at the time
Perhaps the grimmest part of John Healey’s brutal resignation letter is that defence spending, projected to be 2.6% GDP by 2027, will only reach 2.68% in 2030. A pathetic 0.08% increase over three years after all that Starmer rhetoric about the dangerous times we live in and how UK would lead the way stepping up to the crease. A real leader would have told Reeves to cough up the dosh and ordered Miliband to hand over a big chunk of his net zero budget. But he’s probably too weak to do either.
@MMart29191@Dominic2306 that’s a fair point of view, although personally i think cummings’ resignation was a disaster for the country. Boris was an empty vessel and guided by carrie he caused terminal damage. Maybe i’m naive but i wonder what could have been if not for COVID.
@MMart29191@Dominic2306 i’m not sure what your issue with cummings is. He’s been bang on the money about the very many and serious issues the country faces.
@DAaronovitch@BalthazarGrimm@HowardCCox well this aged like milk, it looks like one of your “most Dick Whittington people” has attempted to behead someone in Belfast.
@83_add@PeterSchof1415 don’t waste your time on “Peter”, he seemingly spends his entire day on here to make up for the pitiful, lonely existence. A very strange individual and interesting he questions your career when he lies about having 3 children
@BalthazarGrimm@DAaronovitch@HowardCCox Incredible isn’t it. Never mind that less than 34% of working age somalis are in employment, David “knows” two who break the norm.
@DAaronovitch@BalthazarGrimm@HowardCCox solid made up names, completely plausible except the stats for somalis in work are very low. Rod Liddle was absolutely right about you, you are a “fucking fat, smug idiot”.
