Automatic aid from Engine 263 and our Battalion Chief over a busy weekend to a structure fire in Cedar Hill. Sister city of Duncanville also responded.
DeSoto Fire Rescue Captain Craig Kirk participated in the Dallas 9/11 Stair Climb this past weekend honoring the fallen heroes that died as a result of the terroristic attack on September 11, 2001.Captain Kirk climbed in honor of fallen NYC firefighter Daniel Suhr of Engine 216.
Another uplifting post to share! We are always proud and grateful when our firefighters/paramedics are formally recognized for what they do on a daily basis. Save lives. Medics Cord Langthorn and Manoj Sewal were given a "Care of Excellence Award" by Methodist Central.
SCHOOL ZONE ENFORCEMENT
The DeSoto PD would like to remind citizens that the school zones for DeSoto I.S.D. will be active Monday, August 16, 2021. Please slow down to the lawful speed when the school zone is activated so that no child is put in unnecessary danger.

This week before that fire starting going strong, this little heroic pooch woke his human up with a sense that something was wrong. The pup suffered from smoke inhalation but thanks to some oxygen given by our firefighters he seemed to be doing ok. #doggiehero#puppyoftheday
